Reception... the Tail End

Photos: 1- The red punch... I was inspired to make it into a piece of art while at the reception... I like how it turned out. 2- The lovely wedding cake. 3- The stowaways :) these little girls got a little 'stuffy' during the reception and I followed them outside. 4- Toast to good health... but it's alcohol so it's not really good for your health... hmmm, a little ironic. 5- The great grandma stealing a hug from her great grandson.

I was recently hired by another photographer to photograph the last three hours of a wedding
reception in Park City. Of course, I was more than happy to oblige, but typically even though this is the least stressful time of a wedding, it is also my least favorite time to shoot due to the lack of control. That's right... I'm a control freak when it comes to setting up my photographs. Don't get me wrong... it is always fun to shoot candids, but when the lighting is less than desirable, as was the case with this reception, it kind of squeezes part of the fun out as well.

Still, even shooting in bad lighting conditions still offers some bit of excitement and joy. It's like pizza; even when it's bad it's still kind of good! As was the case with this reception. It was beautiful and full of wonderful people, but no matter how hard I tried (and trust me... I did try!) I could not convince the resort to install a spotlight for the evening ;) Well... at least I tried.

Pix are terrific! The girls outside are awesome!! You do have this one on your website right?? It has a fun, romantic feeling (romantic as whimsical and nostalgic).

Is this the one you were late for cause of detour?
